Hello,
one of our customers is planning a data migration to ERP and CRM for business partners. In case of the customers, we're going to migrate them to ERP firstly and upload them to CRM secondly. New customers will be created in CRM and uploaded to ERP. We use two separate nr ranges and account groups to achieve this.
In case of the contact persons, we would like to do the same thing. Why? The project is on a very tight budget and we try to find solution that are in scope. ELM isn't a favourable options due to developments of additional fields (e.g; bp role). During my search, I found a couple of discussions (http://scn.sap.com/thread/1914559 and http://scn.sap.com/thread/2083072) and notes (564538) that adress this issue. The only main issue I found, is the inequal number ranges between CRM and ERP. (I know you can adjust this, but this requires development.) Fortunetaly, this is not really a problem for the customer.
Before I recommend this solution, are there other issues I may have overlooked? Updating/maintaining all contact persons in CRM,....
BTW: The customer wants use this solution for uploading new customers in case of external listings.
Best regards
