Hi
We are currently in the process of upgrading our CRM system from CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0 (EHP2). The CRM system uses MW to transfer customer, pricing, product and knowledge base info (customising & data) from a connected R/3 (v4.7) system and transfers Sales Order info the other way, whereupon Billing & Invoicing takes place in the R/3 system.
The Sandpit CRM client has been upgraded as per the info contained in the Release Notes, plus, from a MW perspective we have also followed instructions contained within other related documents such as the 'Master Guide' and the 'Upgrade & Update Guide CRM7 EHP2 (ABAP).pdf'.
What I wish to understand is whether I also need to read through the SAP Best Practice - Building Block Configuration Guides for CRM 7.0 (EHP2) to compare the content against the original Building Block Guides that were used to implement our current (initial) CRM5.0 system?
I have downloaded all of the CRM7.0 (EHP2) guides and I can see (for example) that the Subscriptions that need to be assigned for my OLTP Site (transaction SMOEAC) have increased by 1 compared to the CRM 5.0 Subscriptions, as there is now a Subscription in relation to 'All Business Partner Hierarchies'. Additionally I have seen that the CRM Release value stored in table CRMPAROLTP (R/3) should be 702 rather than the previous 500.
Should the Building Block Guides be used in the event of an upgrade to identify MW changes that may be required or are they only relevant for new implementations? I do not want to make changes based on what I see in the Building Blocks if they are not applicable for an upgrade.
Many Thanks
Ian
