Hi CRM Middleware Guru's,
I am a Basis person, not a CRM / Middleware expert. But I do understand the basic concepts of middleware. Hope I am posting this in the correct place.
My question is regarding setting up the middleware between ERP IDES and CRM IDES.
First of all, will it work? What I mean by this is, is there anything that will prevent setting it up "like normal", because IDES comes with so much pre-delivered content / configuration?
Second (if the answer to #1 is yes), would you expect standard CRM scenarios to work "out of the box" after setting it up? By that I am referring to things like opportunity management, service management, etc... That may be more of a functional question. To limit it to middleware, would you expect the synchronization of ECC IDES elements to work?
I am not looking for a "how to", just some expert opinions. We are trying to do a rapid demo, without having the benefit of clean DEV servers yet. I am just curious whether or not IDES can be linked by middleware in order to achieve a semi-realistic system.
